News Joanna Riding Joins Company of London's Lend Me a Tenor — the Musical; Casting Complete Full casting has been announced for the West End premiere of Lend Me a Tenor – the Musical, which will begin performances June 2 at the Gielgud Theatre, prior to an official opening June 15.

The musical, based on the play of the same name by Ken Ludwig that also originally premiered at the same West End address, has book and lyrics by Peter Sham and music by Brad Carroll.

Joanna Riding, who is currently at the Gielgud Theatre in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, will stay at the same theatre to now join the previously announced Matthew Kelly, Damian Humbley, Michael Matus and Sophie-Louise Dann. Riding will play the role of Maria Marelli.

Also newly announced to join the company are Cassidy Janson as Magie Saunders (daughter of Matthew Kelly's Henry, the executive director of the Cleveland Grand Opera), and Gay Soper, Jane Quinn and Michelle Bishop as the ladies of the Opera Guild.

The company also features Jemma Alexander, Karen Aspinall, Natasha J. Barnes, Nick Butcher, Kelly Chinery, Sharon Eckman, Daniel Farrow, Andrew Keelan, Kara Lane, Connor McAllister, Haydn Oakley, Stephen Oliver-Webb, Ryan Pidgen, Jeremy Secomb, Emma Sewell, John Stacey, Robert Traynor, and Michelle White.

It is directed Ian Talbot and Randy Skinner, designed by Paul Farnsworth, with lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by Terry Jardine and Nick Lidster. The musical supervisor is Paul Gemignani, the musical director is Colin Billing, and orchestrations are by Chris Walker. It is produced by Martin Platt and David Elliott and Eileen & Allen Anes.
