News JoBeth Williams and Richard Kind to Star in Busch-Directed L.A. Run of Allergist's Wife Playwright Charles Busch will direct his own work The Tale of the Allergist's Wife for Los Angeles Theatre Works. The production will co-star JoBeth Williams and Richard Kind.

Part of the company's "The Play's The Thing" radio theatre series, performances will run May 16-20 at the Skirball Cultural Center. Shows are performed live and recorded for future broadcast.

In Busch's comedy a middle-aged doctor's wife is "plunged into a mid-life crisis of Medea-like proportions [and] shaken out of her lethargy by the reappearance of a fascinating childhood friend," as a release describes.

Williams is known for her film work in "Kramer vs. Kramer" and "Poltergeist" and has been seen onstage Off-Broadway in Last Dance and The Vagina Monologues. Kind appeared in the Broadway run of the Busch work and has since appeared onstage in The Producers, Sly Fox and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. He is also known for his television work on "Mad About You" and "Spin City."

The 2006-07 "Voices from the Edge" season line-up will continue with Melinda Lopez's Sonia Flew (June 13-17) and Neil Simon's Biloxi Blues (July 11 15).

LATW's nationally syndicated radio show "The Play's The Thing" series can be heard in cities across the country, including Boston, Seattle, Albuquerque as well as on XM Satellite radio. The two-hour radio broadcasts include special backstage features and interviews with actors, playwrights and directors. The L.A.
