Cabaret's legendary Emcee Joel Grey will emcee again Sept. 14 for an evening with Larry Hagman, a benefit for Los Angeles' Rubicon Theatre Company.

Hagman, son of beloved musical theatre icon Mary Martin, grew up in the theatre, first performing live with Dallas' Margo Jones Theatre-in-the-Round and in the English company of South Pacific. His Broadway credits of the late '50's and early '60's include God and Kate Murphy, The Beauty Part and the musical comedy, The Nervous Set. He is, of course, best known for playing JR Ewing in TV's "Dallas."

Clips from Hagman's television shows, including "Dallas" and "I Dream of Jeannie," will be shown and discussed. Hagman will also share anecdotes from his nearly 50 year long career. Everyone attending the benefit will receive a copy of Hagman's 2001 autobiography "Hello Darlin'," which the actor will sign.

Tickets to the benefit and reception are $100 with special $500 tickets which include a pre-show dinner with Hagman at Jonathan's. For reservations, call (805) 667-2900. Rubicon Theatre Company is on the web at http://www.rubicontheatre.org.

In 2002-2003, Rubicon's season will include Linda Purl as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire, the world premiere of Sunrise in My Pocket, Emmy Award winner Susan Clark in Dancing at Lughnasa and Art with TV's Richard Thomas and Daniel Davis.
