After a hit Australian tour last summer, John Cameron Mitchell will bring his Origin of Love tour to The Town Hall June 29, 2019, during World Pride in NYC—celebrating 50 years of Pride.

Mitchell will be joined by Hedwig co-author Stephen Trask for the 8 PM talkback and musical event, which is sold out.

Expect the duo to be joined by starry special guests for the performance that will cover 25 years of Hedwig.

The Tony Award-winning star and creator of Hedwig and the Angry Inch channeled the essence of his “internationally ignored song stylist”—a role he created Off-Broadway and reprised on screen in 2001 and on Broadway in 2015—for four performances in Australia last summer, including a stop at the Sydney Opera House.

Mitchell appears as Hedwig for parts of the cabaret-style show that features songs from the musical and behind-the-scenes history into the show’s creation. His recent projects include the musical podcast Anthem and the film How to Talk to Girls at Parties.

The creative team includes Mike Potter, who’s been styling Hedwig’s iconic coif since 1994, and costume designer Erik Bergrin.
