News John Davidson to Star in Surflight La Mancha; Provost and Hawkins Also Cast John Davidson, most recently on Broadway in State Fair, will return to the Surflight Theatre in August to star in the New Jersey theatre company's production of Man of La Mancha.

The award-winning musical will be presented Aug. 15-Sept. 2. Davidson will star in the title role with Heather Provost as Aldonza and Heather Hawkins as Antonia. Directed by Andrew Glant-Linden, the creative team also features Charles Everitt (musical direction), David Esler (scenic design), Eileen Smitheimer (lighting design) and Andi Lyn (costume design). Gail Anderson is the production supervisor.

John Davidson starred as Abel Frake in the 1996 Broadway production of State Fair, which marked his return to the Broadway stage 30 years after making his debut in Foxy with Bert Lahr. Perhaps best known to TV viewers from many variety and game shows, Davidson began his career starring in such musicals as Oklahoma! Camelot, Li'l Abner, Paint Your Wagon, The Fantasticks, I Do! I Do! and The Music Man. His film credits include "The Happiest Millionaire," "The One and Only Original Family Band," "The Squeeze," "Edward Scissorhands" and "Airport '80."
