According to the Tony Award-nominated actor's agent, Dossett has opted not to join the Joe Mantello-directed production he was involved with in 2001. He was slated to play William McKinley assassin Leon Czolgosz before the production postponed its Broadway debut following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Instead, Dossett — who was Tony nominated for his current turn in Gypsy — has just signed on to stay with the Sam Mendes-helmed staging of the Arthur Laurents-Jule Styne-Stephen Sondheim musical through Sept. 5, 2004.

Dossett has appeared on Broadway in Dinner at Eight, An Almost Holy Picture, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Ragtime, Prelude to a Kiss, Mastergate, Fifth of July and King of Schnorrers. Other credits include A Little Night Music (Kennedy Center), Dinner With Friends (Variety Arts), Trudy Blue (MCC), Hello Again (LCT), How I Learned to Drive (Philadelphia Theatre Company) and the (first national tour) of Kiss of the Spider Woman.
