News John Doyle to Chat About Company and Sweeney on "Downstage Center" Nov. 24 Tony Award-winning director John Doyle — who staged last season's Sweeney Todd and this season's Company — will appear on XM Radio's "Downstage Center."

The American Theatre Wing and XM Satellite Radio present the interview with the director on the weekly theatrical interview show on XM's On Broadway (XM Channel 28). Doyle will appear as the special guest on the show Nov. 24 at 6 PM — repeat broadcasts are scheduled for Nov. 25 at noon, Nov. 26 at 7 PM and Nov. 29 at midnight. Doyle earned a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical with his Broadway debut, Sweeney Todd — which used its cast as its orchestra. He employs the same technique for Broadway's current revival of Company and the forthcoming musical Barnum, scheduled to play San Diego's Old Globe Theatre in the summer of 2007.

Doyle's resume also includes productions of Candide, Carmen, Into the Woods, Fiddler on the Roof, The Gondoliers and Mack and Mabel. Among his upcoming projects are The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny (for Los Angeles Opera) and Lucia di Lammermoor (Scottish Opera).

"Downstage Center" programs run on XM and are then made available for free as streaming audio and in podcast form on ATW's website at americantheatrewing.org.
