News John Goodman Talks Reuniting with Cast Members for Front Page The actor reveals on Late Night that he’s worked with Nathan Lane, Dann Florek, and John Slattery before.

Actor John Goodman last played Broadway in 2009’s Waiting for Godot. He now joins Nathan Lane and John Slattery in the Broadway revival of The Front Page.

Goodman told Seth Meyers on the November 7 episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers that it was not the first time he’d worked with these esteemed actors.

Goodman appeared with Lane and co-star Dann Florek, who plays The Front Page’s Mayor, in a disco version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1978. Goodman says that he knew of Lane’s formidable talent even back then. He also previously worked with Slattery on a radio play in DUMBO.

Goodman’s Front Page character, Sheriff Hartman, is based on Peter B. Hoffman, who was a sheriff. He describes the pace of the play as moving “a mile a minute; it’s like a freight train.”
