News John Legend Is Producing New Solo Show Off-Broadway Oscar and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter John Legend is producing 3 Mics, by comedian Neal Brennan, a solo show set to debut Off-Broadway this month. Brennan is best known as co-creator of the TV series "The Chapelle Show."

3 Mics is written and performed by Brennan, who will take to the stage alternating between three separate microphones: One Liners, Emotional Stuff and Stand-Up – each giving voice to the various aspects of his life. Directed by Drew Barr and presented at Culture Project, performances are set to begin Feb. 23 and run through March 13 a the Lynn Redgrave Theater.

Here's how Culture Project bills the show: "The first microphone is marked by Neal’s smart and sardonic take on race, gender and contemporary heroes and hypocrites. At the second mic Neal shows his punchy wit, sharing one liners he’s crafted over the years but couldn’t find a home for. With the third and final microphone, Neal shares stories of his personal struggles dealing with everything from depression to relationships. With bracing honesty, he reveals challenges that have shaped who he is today, life as a soloist with shoddy confidence and building a life in the shadow of parental abuse and alcoholism."
