News   John Logan-Scripted "Genius" Biopic Will Likely Star Sean Penn
Academy Award winner Sean Penn is in talks to portray legendary literary editor Max Perkins in "Genius," a biopic written by Red's Tony Award-winning playwright, John Logan, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Logan's screenplay is based on A. Scott Berg's biography, "Max Perkins: Editor of Genius." The eccentric chief editor at Scribner's publishing house worked with F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway and young Thomas Wolfe, among others; the screenplay will focus on his relationship with Wolfe but, according to the Reporter, many other famous figures will be represented.

Bill Pohlad will direct the film, which would be co-produced by Logan and River Road, and executive-produced by Berg.
