Eric Ting directs the production about a man who is still in love with his ex-wife. Opening night is scheduled for May 4, and performances will continue through May 22.
The cast features Lisa Birnbaum (Janice), Mike Crane (Huey), Stephanie DiMaggio (Teresa), John Procaccino (Aldo) and Socorro Santiago (Aunt May).
According to Long Wharf, "Huey Maxmillian Bonfigliano has a problem. He’s still stuck on his ex-wife, even though she tore out his heart three years ago. He feels that he can’t be a man again until he gets her back. Enlisting the help of his best friend Aldo, Huey tries to woo her back just one final time."
Designing the production are Scott Bradley (set design), Linda Cho (costume design), Russell Champa (lighting design) and Sarah Pickett (sound design).
Shanley received the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize in Drama for Doubt, which he adapted and directed for the screen. The film adaptation of Doubt received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Shanley's works also include the plays Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, Defiance, The Dreamer Examines His Pillow, the musical Romantic Poetry and the Oscar-winning screenplay for "Moonstruck."
