The new musical features a book by Kirsten Guenther (Breaking Through), music by Nolan Gasser (chief musicologist of pandora.com) and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein (Little Women).
Under the direction of Transport Group artistic director Jack Cummings III, the cast features Andrew Samonsky as Benny, Hannah Elless as Joon, Colin Hanlon, Mamie Parris, Zak Resnick, Tally Sessions, Natalie Toro and Jason SweetTooth Williams. John DiPinto is the musical director.
The "Benny & Joon" film starred Aidan Quinn, Johnny Depp and Mary Stuart Masterson and was written by Barry Berman and Leslie McNeil.
