The musical, which is described as "the worst of the best of Broadway," will play the intimate cabaret Feb. 25 and 26 and March 3, 10, 11, 17, 24 and 25. (All shows begin at 9 PM, expect for March 17 and 24, which begin at 6 PM). Peter Flynn will direct and Dev Janki will choreograph Bombs Away!, which will boast the talents of Mamma Mia!'s Bryan Scott Johnson and Lori Haley Fox, Room Service's Jerry Coyle, Wicked's Sara Jane Everson and Dr. Sex's Chris Corts.
Bombs Away! was penned by Larry Bortniker and Sally Deering. The musical, according to press notes, "centers on Dr. Barry Mishkin, curator of the American Musical Theatre Archives in Washington, DC, who has amassed a collection of numbers and scenes allegedly dropped from Broadway’s classic musicals. Dr. Mishkin and his troupe of actors present his collection against the wishes of the writers, their estates, their lawyers, the Supreme Court of New York, and more recently, the FBI's Musical Comedy Fraud Division. Undaunted by his legal troubles, Dr. Mishkin will not be stopped in his compulsion to present these rare, raw, frequently embarrassing pieces of Broadway history. As the evening progresses, Dr. Mishkin authenticates the provenance of his collection by providing anecdotal information and promoting his legal defense fund while preparing the audience for the strong possibility that there might be a raid."
