Ever wish you could experience the excitement of being backstage on the opening night of a big Broadway musical? Join Playbill On-Line for a pair of special interactive events, as we spend opening night with the casts and crews of two major fall openings: Triumph of Love Oct. 23 and The Scarlet Pimpernel Nov. 9.
Starting at noon TODAY, Oct. 23, Playbill On-Line will bring live, hourly coverage of the opening day from the arrival of the flowers, makeup, jitters, the carrying out of opening night rituals, taking places, the first curtain, and beyond.
Experience the magic of opening night with the cast and creators of these new Broadway musicals. Playbill's Managing Editor, Robert Viagas, along with other Playbill On-Line staff members will be reporting live from the Royale Theatre (Oct. 23) and Minskoff Theatre (Nov. 9) as the drama unfolds.
"There's nothing more thrilling than the opening night of a musical on Broadway. A privileged few get to experience that excitement backstage. Now, Playbill On-Line enables our members all over the internet to share that adrenaline" says Playbill On-Line's Robert Viagas. Included in the live, hourly coverage will be interviews with the cast, designers, director, musical director, wardrobe staff, ushers, attending guests, and all the other folks, famous and not-yet-famous, who make an opening happen.
Log in hourly by clicking on "Countdown to Curtain" from the home page. Posts will be archived so they can be read in their entirety afterward. Playbill On-Line hosted two previous "Countdown to Curtain" events. To read the dispatches for the April 1997 openings of Titanic and Steel Pier, please see under Theatre News in their own news areas:
