News Jollyship to Sail On Through July 20 at Ars Nova The pirate puppet musical Jollyship the Whiz-Bang has extended its limited engagement at Ars Nova through July 20.

Jollyship the Whiz-Bang has book and lyrics by Nick Jones and music by the band Jollyship the Whiz-Bang. The new musical began previews May 14 and officially opened at Ars Nova June 4.

Originally slated to conclude June 29, Jollyship will now play an additional three weeks of performances through July 20.

Directed by Sam Gold, the "underground-pirate-puppet-rock spectacular" concerns a sinking ship, a drunk captain and a band on the verge of mutiny.

Jollyship front man Nick Jones, leads the musical that also features Raja Azar, Steven Boyer, Keith Fredrickson, Daniel Kutcher, Julie Lake and Jesse Wallace.
