The show’s current King, Tony nominee Jonathan Groff, will play his final performance April 9 to begin filming the lead role in David Fincher’s new Netflix series Mindhunter.
O’Malley (The Book of Mormon) will begin performances April 11. He has also appeared in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Nobody Loves You and Little Miss Sunshine.
The historic Broadway musical about Founding Father Alexander Hamilton was written by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, who stars in the title role.
