Cherry Jones in Doubt, Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Richard Thomas and George Wendt in Twelve Angry Men, a new musical Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Berry Gordy and more will play in the new Ahmanson Theatre season.

Center Theatre Group artistic director Michael Ritchie announced the upcoming Los Angeles stage's 2006-2007 lineup April 14. "Our 40th Anniversary Season at the Ahmanson Theatre will not only carry on the tradition of offering a broad range of the highest quality theatrical entertainment, it will also just plain knock your socks off," boasted Ritchie. The CTG/Ahmanson Theatre new year (subject to change) will lineup as follows:

  • Doubt by John Patrick Shanley (Sept. 22-Oct. 29) directed by Doug Hughes
  • The Light in the Piazza Book by Craig Lucas, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel (Oct. 31-Dec. 10) directed by Bartlett Sher
  • Edward Scissorhands Devised, directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne (Dec. 12-31)
  • Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Feb. 6-March 18, 2007) directed by Anthony Page
  • Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose (March 28-May 6, 2007) directed by Scott Ellis
