What is Atlantic 453? According to the not-for-profit Off Broadway Atlantic Theater Company, it's "a 16th Street black box space...that aims to produce intriguing, worthy new plays that might not otherwise find a New York production.  Atlantic 453 offers new writers production opportunities when Atlantic's main stage season is full.  Atlantic believes that playwrights develop their talent and craft best by participating in the entire creative process of a play from the printed page to the fully realized production.  By presenting new writers on 16th Street, Atlantic continues its long-standing tradition of cultivating new work."

Neil Pepe is Atlantic's artistic director. Since its inception in 1985, Atlantic has produced more than 90 plays including the Tony Award-winning production of The Beauty Queen Of Leenane, the world premiere of Woody Allen's Writer's Block, the American premiere of Blue/Orange, the American premiere of Dublin Carol, the New York premiere of The Cider House Rules, the revivals of American Buffalo and Edmond, Mojo, Minutes From The Blue Route and Hobson's Choice.

Atlantic maintains an ensemble of acclaimed actors, writers and directors including co-founders David Mamet (playwright and director) and William H. Macy (Academy Award nominee, "Fargo") among others. For information, visit www.atlantictheater.org.
