Joshua Park, after starring in Broadway's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Irish Repertory Theatre's original musical The Streets of New York, is back at the Irish Rep for their holiday show, A Celtic Christmas, playing Off-Broadway Dec. 3-29.
Irish Repertory Theatre's artistic director Charlotte Moore directs.
Celebrating the holiday traditions and music of Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales and America, A Celtic Christmas brings together Christmas carols with prose and poetry selections from Frank McCourt, Charles Dickens, George Bernard Shaw and William Shakespeare. The evening also includes a performance of Irish Rep adaptation of Dylan Thomas' popular short story, "A Child's Christmas in Wales."
Joining Park in A Celtic Christmas are Irish Rep veterans Peter Cormican (The Irish...and How They Got That Way) and Jayne Ackley Lynch (A Child's Christmas in Wales) alongside Rebecca Bellingham and Joyce A. Noonan. Kenny Kosek accompanies them on violin, mandolin and guitar with Eddie Guttman on piano.
Tickets are $35-$40. The Irish Repertory Theatre is located at 132 W. 22nd Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. For ticket information, call (212) 727-2737. Irish Repertory Theatre is on the web at http://www.irishrep.org. — By Christine Ehren
