Rourke begins her position April 10, taking over for Mike Bradwell. Rourke's directing credits include Loyal Women and Crazyblackmuthafuckin'Self at the Royal Court, The Cryptogram at the Donmar Warehouse, World Music at the Sheffield Crucible and King John at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The Bush, with a home in West London, produces new plays and has a reputation for developing new writers such as Stephen Poliakoff, Philip Ridley, Sharman Macdonald, Jonathan Harvey, Catherine Johnson, Georgia Fitch, Jack Thorne and Steve Thompson. Its production of Thompson's Whipping It Up, directed by Terry Johnson, just transferred to the West End.
The Bush has also toured shows internationally, including the recent successes Mammals by Amelia Bullmore and After the End by Dennis Kelly.
