Based on Sophie Kinsella's novel "Confessions of a Shopaholic," the film chronicles the life of a young college grad who uses her job as a financial journalist in New York City to support her shopping addiction.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dancy will co-star with Krysten Ritter (All This Intimacy) and Isla Fisher under the direction of P.J. Hogan. Fisher stars as the "shopaholic," while Dancy is slated to portray the editor of the magazine for which she works. Krysten Ritter has been cast as Fisher's best friend in the film produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Tim Firth, Tracey Jackson and Kayla Alpert have adapted Kinsella's novel for the screen. "Shopaholic" is scheduled to begin filming in New York and Connecticut next month.

Dancy appeared in the 2007 Broadway revival of Journey's End – which earned a Tony for Best Revival of a Play. Dancy has also performed in The 24 Hour Plays. His screen credits include "Black Hawk Down," "Evening" and the upcoming "Poe."
