News Jude Law Injury Cancels London Faustus Performance

Disappointed audiences were told March 21 that that evening's performance of David Lan's production of Christopher Marlowe's Dr Faustus had been canceled, owing to a knee injury sustained by the star, Jude Law.

Law's injury on March 20 caused that day's performance to be canceled as well. However, a Young Vic spokesman said they hoped he would be back March 22 "but he needs to rest again to avoid further damage."

Law is the main draw for the primarily young audiences who have been enjoying his highly physical performance as the doomed Faustus, in Marlowe's best-known play, a tragedy about a man who sells his soul to the Devil.
