News   Judy Kaye, Karen Mason, Len Cariou, Gregg Edelman Celebrate the Opening of Broadway and the Bard

Judy Kaye, Karen Mason, Penny Fuller and more came out to celebrate the opening of Sweeney Todd's Len Cariou Broadway and the Bard Feb. 4, an evening of Shakespeare and song co-created by the Tony winner and presented by Amas Musical Theatre.

Broadway and the Bard is conceived by Cariou, Barry Kleinbort and Mark Janas; and directed by Kleinbort with musical direction by Janas. Performances are at the Lion Theatre at Theatre Row and continue through March 6.

The show combines two of Cariou's passions: Shakespeare and musical comedy, blending classical soliloquies and sonnets with inventive musical pairings. It is billed as "an eighty-minute melding of superb soliloquy and memorable song by a one-of-a-kind master actor of exquisite vintage in what the Bard might refer to as 'a most rare vision.'"

Broadway and the Bard is presented by Amas Musical Theatre in association with Alan Siegel Entertainment. The creative team includes Josh Iacovelli (sets), Matt Berman (lights and sound), and Karen Parlatto (Production Stage Manager).

Tickets are available by visiting Telecharge.com or calling (212) 239-6200. The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row is located at 410 West 42nd St.
