Julia Murney — star of the Off-Broadway Wild Party — will perform in concert at the Ars Nova Theater on Monday, Nov. 4 at 8 PM.

Part of the Broadway Spotlight Series, Murney's concert will feature some songs from the musical theatre and boasts Steven Oremus as musical director with Matt Beck on guitar, back-up drums and bass. To date, the Spotlight series has offered concerts by 42nd Street's Meredith Patterson, Aida's Felicia Finley, former Renter Anthony Rapp, Into the Woods' Chad Kimball and a double-bill of Matt Bogart and Idina Menzel.

Gordon Greenberg, artistic director of the Spotlight Series, recently explained, "This is an incredible opportunity to see some of Broadway's most exciting young talent as individual performers in an up-close and personal environment.  For about the cost of a movie, audiences get a completely original evening with a major talent.  We are committed to offering this sort of an intimate platform to performers, composers and lyricists who wish to explore new material in a comfortable setting."

Julia Murney recently took part in the all-star Funny Girl concert to benefit the Actors Fund of America, where she sang the Streisand standard "People." She received a Drama Desk nomination for her work in Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party, and her other theatrical credits include Crimes of the Heart, Time and Again, A Class Act, Cloud 9, Snapshots and Mata Hari. This will mark her solo concert debut.

The Ars Nova Theater is located at 511 W. 54th Street in New York City. Tickets are priced at $12 and are available, cash only, at the door. For reservations and information, call (212) 206-1515 or go on-line to www.SmartTix.com.   —By Andrew Gans
