News Julia Said "Ha!": Sweeney's Letting Go of God World Premiere Extends Again to Jan. 23 The world premiere staging of Letting Go of God by God Said "Ha!" star Julia Sweeney has extended again through Jan. 23, 2005 at Hollywood's Hudson Backstage Theatre.

The new work which completes her trilogy of solo works (following God Said "Ha!" and In The Family Way) began previews Sept. 10 and opened Oct. 9 in California was originally slated to run through Nov. 21 then extended to Dec. 19. The popular work now lengthens its stay for another five weeks.

Writing, directing and starring in the work, Sweeney offers her "most personal work to date," according to show materials. The new solo follows her "unexpected and hilarious journey" to spiritual enlightenment sparked by a visit from two Mormon missionary boys. Her newfound curiosity leads her to leave the Catholic church — in which she was raised and loves — to a conclusion that not only surprised others, but herself as well.

Sweeney wrote and performed her God Said "Ha!" in Los Angeles before heading to Broadway's Lycuem Theatre with the work about her brother. She then wrote and performed in In the Family Way (in L.A. and New York) about her adopted daughter. The actress has also been seen in the films "Pulp Fiction," "Stuart Little," "Clockstoppers," "Stuart Saves His Family" and "It's Pat" — the latter based on her "Saturday Night Live" gender-unspecific character.

The design team of Letting Go of God features Steven Young (lighting) and Drew Dalzell (sound). Pamela Keller produces.
