Classic Arts News Julia Thornton's Harpistry Enters Billboard Classical Chart Harpist Julia Thornton's Harpistry, a collection of solo classical works by Bach, Beethoven, and other composers, entered the Billboard classical chart at number 13 this week.
Thornton, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, performed harp and percussion with Bryan Ferry and his band Roxy Music before releasing Harpistry. She has since released a follow-up album, .

Also new to the chart was the Royal Northern College of Music's Russian Wind Band Classics, at number 20, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Donald Runnicles, performing Mozart's Requiem, at number 22. Soloists for the Requiem include soprano Christine Brewer, mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose, tenor John Tessier, and bass Eric Owens.

The album Silk Road Journeys: Beyond the Horizon, by Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, continued its hold on the number-one spot for the 19th week. Andr_ Rieu's Tuscany remained at number two, where it landed last week, and the 5 Browns' self-titled album moved from number four to number three.

On the classical-crossover chart, Il Divo's self-titled album remained at number one, but had a significant surge in sales. You've Stolen My Heart, a collaboration between the Kronos Quartet and Indian singer Asha Bhosle, entered the chart at number seven, and the Irish Tenors' Heritage re-entered the chart at number 24.
