News Julie Andrews Heads to Goodspeed to Salute Her Ex Broadway and film star Julie Andrews will appear in person June 6 at Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, CT, to present an award to her ex-husband, Oscar- Emmy- and Tony-winning set designer Tony Walton.

The award ceremony, titled Razzle Dazzle will take place 6:30 PM June 6 at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, 55 Bridge St. East Haddam.

Walton will receive The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre. Actor Noah Racey will serve as emcee. Among Walton's designs are the original productions of the Broadway shows A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Pippin, Chicago, Grand Hotel and The Will Rogers Follies. He also designed the movies "Mary Poppins" and "All That Jazz."

Andrews, who won the same award in 2005, will present. Andrews worked on Goodspeed's production of The Boy Friend in 2005, and on a musical adaptation of her own book, The Great American Mousical at affiliated Norma Terris Theatre in nearby Chester, CT, in 2012. Walton and Andrews were married from 1959 to 1967.

Proceeds from the Gala will support Goodspeed Musicals’ Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre.
