Academy Award winner Julie Andrews will be among those entertainers interviewed on the May 10 broadcast of "48 Hours."

In a segment entitled "Legends," the CBS news program will focus on several entertainers who have triumphed over adversity, including Andrews, Kirk Douglas, Loretta Lynn and Lauren Hutton. Andrews, who was last on Broadway in Victor/Victoria, underwent vocal chord surgery after her run in the Blake Edwards musical, and since that time has been unable to sing professionally.

One of the most beloved entertainers, Julie Andrews — who was born in Surrey, England — starred on Broadway in the original productions of The Boyfriend, My Fair Lady and Camelot as well as the Stephen Sondheim revue, Putting It Together. She won an Academy Award for her work in "Mary Poppins" and Oscar nominations for "The Sound of Music" and "Victor/Victoria." Andrews' other film credits include "The Americanization of Emily," "Hawaii," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," "Star," "10," "S.O.B." and "That's Life." The regal performer has also starred in several television programs; in fact, her series, "The Julie Andrews Hour," collected seven Emmy Awards. Andrews also writes children's books and is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women) and has traveled to several countries on their behalf.

CBS' "48 Hours" airs at 10 PM ET. The prime-time news series debuted in 1988; since that time it has garnered 17 Emmy Awards, a George Foster Peabody Award and an Ohio State Award.
