Tim Fountain's one-person play, Julie Burchill Is Away, a production starring Jackie Clune and directed by Jonathan Lloyd, opens on June 10 at the Soho Theatre (through July 13).

The play, which Fountain wrote with the full support of Miss Burchill, tells the story of her rise from a Bristol housing estate in the 1960's, via the Groucho Club of the 1980's, to her current home: a Brighton mansion barely furnished except for a bust of Lenin and a heated outdoor pool.

Tim Fountain's play about Quentin Crisp, Resident Alien, has won three major awards and will have had eight major productions worldwide by the end of 2002.

Jackie Clune's own show, Bitchin', was a success at last year's Edinburgh Festival and subsequently transferred to the Arts Theatre for a West End run during December 2001.

Director Jonathan Lloyd is an Associate Director of Soho Theatre Company, whose previous credits include Jump Mr. Malinoff, Jump and School Play.
