Halston was seen on Broadway earlier this season as the dipsomaniacal Gay Wellington who spent most of her onstage time fast asleep in You Can't Take It With You. She will be very much on her toes when she takes over the role of ballet teacher Maude P. Dilly, along with the perpetually outraged Little Old Lady, and nightclub singers Diana Dream and Dolores Dolores.

Hoffman's injury was not connected with the show, the spokesperson said. Hoffman, who has been out of the show since March 5, is expected to return next week.

Halston's Broadway credits include 21st century revivals of The Women, Twentieth Century and Anything Goes. In the 2003 Bernadette Peters revival of Gypsy she played the stripper Electra.
