Florida's Caldwell Theatre Company will honor actress Julie Harris Mar. 15 at 7:30 PM with the presentation of the seventh annual Spotlight Award. Charles Nelson Reilly will emcee the event.

Nominated for 10 Tony Awards (more than any other actor), Harris won five of them, her first in 1952 for playing Sally Bowles in I Am a Camera. Her other wins came with The Lark, Forty Carats, The Last Mrs. Lincoln and The Belle of Amherst. Harris' film credits include "East of Eden," "Requiem for a Heavyweight," "The Hiding Place," "Gorillas in the Mist," "Housesitter" and "Carried Away." She has won two Emmy awards and was a castmember on "Knot's Landing" in the '80's.

Harris is currently on tour through May 16 opposite Charles Durning in the National Actor's Theatre revival of The Gin Game. Her next project is likely to be Scent of the Roses, a South African play hoping for production in a small Broadway or large Off-Broadway house in late October. She played the lead in the show's world premiere at Seattle's A Contemporary Theatre, July-Aug. 1998.

The Caldwell Theatre Company Spotlight Award is given for lifetime service to the theatre arts. Past winners include Cliff Robertson, Roddy McDowell, Christopher Reeve, Nehemiah Persoff, Charles Nelson Reilly and Len Cariou.

Tickets for the presentation are $25. For information and reservations, call (561) 241-7432. The Caldwell Theatre Company is located at 7873 N. Federal Highway in the Levitz Plaza. -- By Christine Ehren
