Taymor was interviewed for a segment about the 15th anniversary of Broadway's The Lion King that aired on ABC's "Nightline" Nov. 20.

"You can't blame [the problems of Spider-Man] on me or any single person, because you don't create a musical with one person or two," Taymor told ABC News. The Lion King creator said she disagreed with U2's Bono and The Edge, who had told "Nightline" that she was too close to the project to make the necessary changes.

"It is very hard to create experimental [theatre] -- break ground, try to do something that's never been done when people are going to constantly second-guess it," Taymor added. "But the show that is there is the show that I created over eight years, minus some of the depth."
