Sam Zalutsky directs a cast that includes playwright Hampton as Screg, Beverly Lauchner as Hillary Parker, Carter Calvert as Shelly, Kim Goldfeder as Eve, Trey Mitchell as Trevor and Paul Nugent as the voice of Jackson. The Jungle Fun Room, according to press notes, "centers around a group of struggling actors who spend their days working children's birthday parties at the New York City Zoo. When an eager new worker arrives fresh off the musical theatre conservatory boat, followed by the birthday girl's Oscar-winning Mom, it throws all involved into an emotional and hysterical loop where they're faced with past and present realties of their roles in show business and in life."
Hampton's new play was the winner of the Audience Favorite Award at the 2008 Penobscot Theatre's Northern Writes New Play Festival.
Show times are Aug. 15 at noon, Aug. 19 at 10:15 PM, Aug. 21 at 2:30 PM, Aug. 23 at 5 PM and Aug. 29 at 7 PM.
