Justin Kirk returns to Off-Broadway's The World Over Oct. 10, a day later than expected following an ankle injury, a spokesman confirmed.
Due to a sprained ankle suffered in performance Oct. 4, Justin Kirk sat out Oct. 5-8 performances of The World Over, the Playwrights Horizons season opener at The Duke on 42nd Street. It was thought he'd return Oct. 9, but his understudy went on, after all.
At last Friday's performance of the quirky, picaresque play by Keith Bunin, understudy Brian Sgambati stepped into Act Two after the Act One sprain of Kirk. In the lead role of a man who travels the world to claim his birthright, Sgambati played subsequent performances.
Kirk is remembered for Love! Valour! Compassion! The world premiere of The World Over continues to Oct. 13. For Playwrights Horizons information, click www.playwrightshorizons.com.
