News Justin Sayre Is Alive and Well... Writing Plays Ars Nova April 20 John Hill and Cole Escola are part of Justin Sayre Is Alive and Well... Writing, an evening of short plays, April 20-21 at the Ars Nova.

Ben Rimalower (Joy, Leslie Kritzer is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches) directs the two-performance engagement. Comedian and writer Sayre is also the creator of the monthy variety show The Meeting*.

In addition to Hill (Hairspray, The Boy from Oz) and Escola ("Jeffery & Cole Casserole," Our Hit Parade), the evening also includes Paul Iacono (Fame), Ian Scott McGregor ("Boardwalk Empire") and Rob Maitner (Urinetown, FringeNYC).

The 8 PM performances promise "a selection of vignettes for five actors. This show extends Sayre's distinctively off-kilter perspective and trademark wit across a wide array of contexts from perverse to profound and back again."

Justin Sayre Is Alive and Well... Writing has set design by Chris Minard, costume design by Ryan Moller and sound design by Andrew Puccio.
