Broadway News Kara Lindsay Returns to Broadway Cast of Beautiful—The Carole King Musical March 14 The long-running musical continues at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

Kara Lindsay returns to the Broadway cast of Beautiful —The Carole King Musical March 14, stepping back into the role of songwriter Cynthia Weil at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

The Broadway favorite follows Jessica Keenan Wynn, who recently succeeded Kate Reinders. Lindsay first played the role as a replacement while Wynn took a leave of absence to film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Lindsay’s additional Broadway credits include Wicked and Newsies; she’s also appeared regionally in Singin’ in the Rain, Mary Poppins, and Cinderella.

With a book by Tony and Academy Award nominee Douglas McGrath, direction by Marc Bruni, and choreography by Josh Prince, Beautiful features an array of songs written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King and Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. The musical was nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical, which Jessie Mueller won.

The cast is currently headed by Chilina Kennedy in the title role with Evan Todd, Ben Jacoby, Paul Anthony Stewart, and Liz Larsen.
