Karen Ziemba and John Bolton Tweet at the Dinner Table in New Musical Social Life | Playbill

News Karen Ziemba and John Bolton Tweet at the Dinner Table in New Musical Social Life Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba (Bullets Over Broadway, Curtains), John Bolton (Curtains, Spamalot) and Ethan Slater will take part in readings of the new musical Social Life, about the impact of social media and technology on modern lives.

According to press notes, Social Life is an innovative new musical driven by electro-pop tracks that will utilize "technical elements that have never been used in the theatre before."

The story will lend a critical eye to a family so saturated in a world full of technology and social media that they lose human connection with one another. "Tweeting at the dinner table, vlogging, online shopping and one incredibly snarky smart phone are commonplace."

Conceived and co-written by Chris Myers, the writing team includes Ricky Dunlop (book and lyrics), Jeremiah Rosenthal (music) and Alex Kantor (additional book and lyrics).

The readings will be directed by Mindy Cooper (50 Shades! The Musical, Soul Doctor Off-Broadway) with musical direction from Jeffrey Saver (Chicago, End of the Rainbow). The readings were cast by Stephanie Klapper Casting.

Also featured in the readings are Beth Stafford Laird, Susan G. Bob, Dan Tracy, Kelly King, Jake Mckenna and Michael Lorz. The invite-only readings will take place on Feb. 8th at The Tribeca Grand Theater and Feb. 9th at Pearl Studios. For more information on the production, please visit SocialLifeTheMusical.com
