Several of Broadway’s top female stars will take a break from their busy schedules June 17 to remember one of their greatest predecessors, Barbara Cook, with a tribute concert in New York City. Cook died August 8, 2017, at age 89.
Till There Was You: A Celebration of Barbara Cook will feature performances by current Hello, Dolly! co-star Kate Baldwin, along with Rebecca Luker (The Music Man), Christiane Noll (Jekyll & Hyde), Karen Ziemba (Contact), and Linda Purl. Other participants are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
They will perform numbers from Cook’s long and varied career, which included starring roles in The Music Man, The Grass Harp, Candide, She Loves Me, Flahooley, and innumerable concert appearances and recordings.
Performances will be held at 7 and 9:30 PM at Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York City, produced by Deborah Grace Winer as part of the The Classic American Songbook Series at the supper club.
Feinstein’s/54 Below is located at 254 West 54th Street, beneath Studio 54, in Manhattan. Tickets, which cost $35 to $75 (plus a $25 food/drink minimum), can be ordered here. Tickets on the day of performance after 4 PM are available only by calling (646) 476-3551.
Kate Baldwin and Rebecca Luker have been special guest performers on three of Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas cruises.
