News Kate Baldwin Sings with Friends Tonight Kate Baldwin celebrates the music of Michael John LaChiusa and Will Van Dyke in a two-night concert series.

The Kate Baldwin & Friends series is offered at the downtown venue The Sheen Center Feb. 28 at 7:30 PM and March 21 at 7:30 PM.

The February performance, entitled Welcome to My Party: Kate Baldwin & Friends Sing the Songs of Michael John LaChiusa, features musical direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, who leads a five-piece band. Guest vocalists include Alexander Gemignani, Katie Thompson and Allison Blackwell. Erin Ortman directs.

The March evening, entitled The Girl Who Stayed: Kate Baldwin & Friends Sing the Songs of Will Van Dyke, will also feature Matt Doyle and Jessica Vosk. The vocalists will be joined and led by Van Dyke and backed by his band, The Whiskey 5. Jeff Talbott directs.

Baldwin, a Tony nominee for her performance in Finian's Rainbow, has also appeared in the Broadway productions of Big Fish, The Full Monty, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Wonderful Town; the Off-Broadway productions of Songbird, Jon and Jen (Drama Desk nomination) and Giant (Drama Desk nomination); as well as in concerts with the New York Pops, Encores! and the American Songbook series at Lincoln Center.
