In Daddy Issues, a man tries to appease his parents by hiring his ten-year old downstairs neighbor to play his son. Helmed by David Goldyn, an opening night is slated for April 7 at the Davenport Theatre.

The cast also includes Mary Ellen Ashley (original Broadway casts of Annie Get Your Gun and Yentl), Alex Ammerman (Mothers and Sons on Broadway), Tony Rossi (Boardwalk Empire), Yuval David (Bunbury at Abingdon Theatre), Elizabeth Klein (Women and Wallace at Theatre Row Theaters), Paul Louis Lessard (I Am Harvey Milk at Lincoln Center), Austin Levine (Mary Poppins) and Megan MacPhee (Pinkalicious).

"It is 1982 and Donald Moscowitz has overbearing parents," state press notes. "They disapprove of his choice of profession (actor), his flair for decorating (pastels) and his lifestyle (homosexual). The one thing that would make them happy is a grandchild. His solution: hire the ten-year old kid downstairs to play his son. What could possibly go wrong?"

Goldberg's full-length plays include The Manufacturer's Daughter and The Feuding Paleontologists.

Performances will run through April 24. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit DaddyIssuesThePlay.com or call (866) 811-4111.
