News Kate Winslet Eyes Stage Debut in David Hare's Skylight Academy Award winner Kate Winslet is exploring the possibility of making her sage debut. According to a report in the U.K.'s Daily Mail, the actress is in talks with Sir David Hare about having him directing her in a production of his play Skylight.

The play originally premiered at the National, with Richard Eyre directing a cast that comprised Michael Gambon and Lia Williams; it subsequently transferred with both actors to the West End and Broadway.

The play revolves around a meeting between a man and his former mistress. According to the Daily Mail, current discussions are for Bill Nighy to reprise the role of the man that he previously played in an earlier revival of the play.

It is yet to be determined whether the project will be aiming for a West End or Broadway opening, and the Mail reports that there are "some obstacles of a private nature that would need to be sorted out before she can sign on the dotted line and officially commit."
