Hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb will chat with the Broadway favorite about her newest tome. Peters will be accompanied by three rescued dogs that are now available for adoption.
"The Today Show," featuring Gifford and Kotb, is broadcast in the New York metropolitan area on NBC beginning at 10 AM ET; check local listings. All proceeds from the sale of Peters' book benefit Barks, which Peters co-founded with Mary Tyler Moore. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, is "dedicated to saving the lives of animals in shelters and raising awareness surrounding the beauty of adoption."
"Stella and Charlie: Friends Forever," according to press notes, "tells the story of friendship inspired by Peters’ work with shelter animals and her personal experience with animal adoption. 'Stella and Charlie: Friends Forever' is sure to please young readers, dog lovers, and anyone who has gone through the trials and tribulations of true friendship."

Peters was last on Broadway in the 2011 revival of Follies. She received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed revival of Gypsy. Peters won Tonys for her performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song & Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. She also won a 2012 Isabelle Stevenson Award from the Tonys for her humanitarian work in connection with Broadway Barks and other charities.
She can also be seen in the new TV series "Mozart in the Jungle," which has been picked up for a second season.
