Classic Arts News Kathleen Battle Concert in Florida Canceled A concert of jazz and folk music featuring soprano Kathleen Battle has been canceled due to poor ticket sales, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports.
The concert, scheduled for March 20, was to take place at the Marcy McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center in Daytona Beach.

Battle, who sang with the Metropolitan Opera until her notorious dismissal in 1994, was to have performed with jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut, with whom she first collaborated in 1995 on the album So Many Stars, a collection of Brazilian lullabies, folks songs, and other non-opera works. The Daytona concert program was to include songs from the album.

Refunds are available for ticket-holders.
