News Kathy Dietch, Gina Kim, Ryan Tofil, Tessa Faye Among Cast of Off-Broadway's Miss Kim Elvin Roytman and Bein' It Productions will present Gina Kim and Ryan Tofil's Miss Kim, a new play about a young Korean-American woman at war with her abusers, her family and herself, beginning Jan. 17, prior to an official opening Jan. 20, at the 45th Street Theatre.

Directed by Matthew Corozine, the Off-Broadway limited engagement will continue through Jan. 29.

The cast includes Kim, Tofil, Kathy Deitch (Wicked, Footloose, Hair at Encores!), Tessa Faye, Justin Gentry and Matthew McCurdy.

Here's how producers describe the production: "A raw and naked account of the psychological torment behind sexual abuse and family betrayal, Miss Kim is the strikingly candid true-story of Gina Kim’s battle to salvage sanity and spirit through humor, years after being molested by her uncle. Family denial, gut wrenching heartbreak and a slew of misguided decisions pervade this new play that pits past transgressions against a present dating life in a war for love and happiness."

Miss Kim was seen at FringeNYC in 2010.

Other members of the creative team include set and lighting designer David S. Goldstein, costume designer Michelle Eden Humphrey and stage manager Laura Hirschberg. The 45th St. Theatre is located at 354 West 45th Street. For more information and tickets, visit www.smarttix.com or www.misskimtheplay.com.
