The Life of Spiders follows "the story of a man in Belle Époque Paris who weaves the finest and most sought after silk he milks from spiders. In order to woo the object of his desire, he makes a Faustian contract to coax more silk from the spiders, to weave fabric for the finest clothing to present to his mistress."
Stuart is perhaps best known for the play Demonology, which played at Playwrights Horizons in 1996 and starred Marisa Tomei.
