Regional News Kennedy Center Adds Freestyle Love Supreme to Summer Season The improvisational hip-hop show from Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Anthony Veneziale will make its first D.C. appearance.

Direct from its recent sold-out Off-Broadway run, Freestyle Love Supreme will head to the nation's capital this summer where it will make its D.C. premiere at The Kennedy Center. The musical improv show will run for nine performances, July 16–21, as part of the comedy season.

Freestyle Love Supreme is conceived by Anthony Veneziale and co-created by Hamilton’s Thomas Kail (director, co-producer) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (co-producer). Each night, performers take cues from the audience and spin them into comedy, instantaneous songs and riffs, and musical numbers.

Previous guest performers in Freestyle Love Supreme include Miranda, James Monroe Iglehart, Christopher Jackson, and Daveed Diggs.

Freestyle Love Supreme played a hit, sold-out run at Ars Nova's Greenwich House Theater January 30 through March 3. Flip through photos from opening night below.
