News Kenneth Branagh's "Cinderella" Film Has a $132 Million Opening Weekend The live-action film "Cinderella," directed by acclaimed actor Kenneth Branagh, took in $132.5 million worldwide in its opening weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film stars Cate Blanchett, Lily James, Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgård, Holliday Grainger, Derek Jacobi and Helena Bonham Carter.

With a screenplay by Chris Weitz, "Cinderella" is produced by Simon Kinberg, Allison Shearmur and David Barron.

The new "Frozen Fever" short premiered prior to "Cinderella" being screened in theatres. Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, and produced by Peter Del Vecho and Aimee Scribner, the short features an original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez titled "Making Today a Perfect Day."
