News Kenny Leon Chats with Tony Winner Rashad June 11 at Seattle Rep Seattle Repertory Theatre — where Phylicia Rashad recently made her directorial debut with Gem of the Ocean — presents "An Intimate Evening with Phylicia Rashad" June 11.

Broadway director Kenny Leon (Gem, Raisin in the Sun and Radio Golf) will host the one-night-only event in the Washington company's Leo K Theatre at 8 PM.

The benefit event will feature an "interview, career retrospective and informal Q&A," according to an announcement. All proceeds will benefit Seattle Rep's Education Programs.

Rashad earned a Tony Award for her turn in the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun – which she will reprise in the forthcoming ABC television adaptation opposite her former stage co-stars Sean Combs, Sanaa Lathan, Bill Nunn and fellow Tony winner Audra McDonald. (Leon directed both versions.) The actress, known to television audiences as the matriarch on "The Cosby Show," has also appeared onstage in Jelly's Last Jam, Into the Woods, Dreamgirls, The Wiz, Blue, Helen, The Story and Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death.
