The play about a man who hears the voice of God during a workplace tragedy — and later wants to spread His/his message — is a co-production with MCC in New York City, where David Duchovny originated the role in fall 2010. Tracee Chimo (as a call girl and a talk-show host) and Radio Golf's John Earl Jelks (as a lawyer and a cop) made the move from Off-Broadway to L.A., but Amanda Peet (doubling as ex-wife and a lover) did not. Catherine Dent (TV's "The Shield") takes Peet's roles.

Directed again by Jo Bonney, The Break of Noon continues to March 6.

Anderson was nominated for a Tony Award for his role in Death of a Salesman. His Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include the musical Brooklyn, Orphans, Orpheus Descending, Moonchildren, Brilliant Traces, The Red Address, Speaking in Tongues and Summer and Smoke. London theatre credits include the original Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard, Dinner with Friends and as Andy Dufresne in the new stage adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption.

The Break of Noon marks the fourth time LaBute's work has been at the Geffen Playhouse; his past works at the theatre include Fat Pig (also directed by Bonney), Some Girl(s) and Wrecks, all of which ran in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater.

The creative team includes set designer Neil Patel, costume designer Emilio Sosa (known for "Project Runway"), lighting designer David Wiener, sound designer Darron L West and production stage manager Christina Lowe.
