Tony and Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey will star in and executive produce the drama pilot "House of Cards," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The pilot is based on the novel and British miniseries of the same name, which depict political intrigue on Wall Street.

Playwright Beau Willimon, whose plays include Farragut North and Spirit Control, will write the pilot, which will be directed by Academy Award nominee David Fincher ("The Social Network").

Spacey received a Tony Award for Lost in Yonkers and Academy Awards for "American Beauty" and "The Usual Suspects." His additional Broadway credits include A Moon for the Misbegotten, The Iceman Cometh, Long Day's Journey Into Night and Ghosts. Screen credits include "Casino Jack," "Recount," "Beyond the Sea," "Pay It Forward," "L.A. Confidential" and "Se7en."

No network is attached to the pilot, which will be executive-produced by Spacey, Eric Roth, Josh Donen and Dana Brunetti.
